The Zoo Licensing Act 1981
ME Cooper
The Zoo Licensing Act 1981 introduces a system of licensing and inspection for zoos and other collections of nondomesticated species to which the public has access. The requirements of the Act are outlined with particular reference to the various forms of inspection, some of which involve the veterinary profession. This legislation is a new concept for Britain and heralds a new era in the management and recognition of zoological collections.
